Premier Siargao day trip

Sohoton Cove & Bucas Grande

Sohoton is one of the standout experiences you can do while staying in Siargao: a full-day journey into a maze of emerald lagoons, jungle-covered limestone islands, cave adventures and the famous jellyfish sanctuary.

Why Sohoton is special

A landscape that feels hidden from the outside world.

Bucas Grande is shaped by clear-water lagoons and thickly vegetated karst islands. Boats weave through narrow passages between green rock formations, creating a very different atmosphere from the open-water island hopping close to General Luna.

Signature experiences

The highlights that make Sohoton a premier excursion.

The lagoon maze

Sohoton is built around interconnected clear-water lagoons, narrow passages and steep green karst islets. The scenery can feel almost like Peter Pan's Neverland: hidden water channels, jungle-covered rock and quiet coves unfolding one after another.

Hagukan Cave

One of Sohoton's best-known cave experiences involves a short underwater entry into a chamber known for its unusual light and water effects. Local guides manage the entry according to conditions and tide.

Magkukuob Cave & jump

At Magkukuob, the route continues through a cave before climbing toward an opening above the water. The classic finish is the jump back into the cove below — one of the most memorable adventure moments of the day.

Jellyfish Sanctuary

Bucas Grande is also known for its stingless jellyfish sanctuary. When local conditions and jellyfish presence allow, guests can enter the lagoon and experience these delicate creatures at close range in their natural habitat.

Included with Aggehanan-arranged tours

Transport, entrances and lunch are included.

The Sohoton excursion includes transport for the trip, entrance fees and a classic Filipino boodle fight lunch. You do not need to piece the main logistics together yourself.

A full-day experience

Worth setting aside the day for.

Sohoton takes more travel time than the three-island and four-island routes near General Luna, but that longer journey is part of what makes it feel like a destination in its own right rather than another beach stop.

Conditions matter

Some experiences depend on tide and local conditions.

Cave access, boat routes and the jellyfish sanctuary can depend on tide, sea conditions and current local operating arrangements. The exact order of stops can therefore change from day to day.
