Siargao road trip

North Siargao: Pacifico, Alegria & Taktak Falls

A day in North Siargao shows a very different side of the island from General Luna: longer roads, quieter coastal villages, serious surf around Pacifico, a long white-sand beach at Alegria and a freshwater stop at Taktak Falls.

Three different stops

Surf, swim and cool off in fresh water.

Pacifico

The north's best-known surf village

Pacifico in San Isidro is one of Siargao's established surf areas outside General Luna. The coast feels more open and less built-up, and conditions can range from relaxed to powerful depending on swell. If surfing is the priority, ask locally about the day's conditions before paddling out.

Alegria Beach

A long white-sand beach for a slower stop

Alegria in Santa Monica is known for its long stretch of fine white sand. It is a good contrast to Pacifico: less about waves and more about beach time, swimming when conditions are suitable, and enjoying the quieter northern coast.

Taktak Falls

Trade salt water for a freshwater break

Taktak Falls in Santa Monica adds a completely different landscape to a beach-heavy Siargao itinerary. The provincial tourism office highlights its clear, cool water, making it a natural stop to combine with Alegria and the north-coast drive.

Why make the trip

The road is part of the experience.

The appeal of North Siargao is not one single attraction. It is the change of pace as you move away from General Luna through coconut scenery and smaller communities toward a less concentrated tourism area.

Planning the day

Give the north enough time.

Pacifico, Alegria and Taktak Falls work best as a relaxed full-day road trip rather than a rushed checklist. Weather, surf and road conditions can change, so confirm current local conditions before setting out.
